Dr Peter Krigovsky
Australian trained and vocationally registered GP Dr Krigovsky has been practising medicine in Australia for 23 years. He has extensive experience in family care and community health.
After working in Africa, Peter is delighted be providing health care services to Sunshine Coast residents and families.
A few of his qualifications include certification in skin cancer medicine, clinical emergency management, advanced life support, trauma life support, cardiac life support and paediatric life support. Doctor Krigovsky also is a certified Scuba Divers medical examiner offering dive medicals.
Outside the practice, Peter is a busy family man and enjoys playing tennis, squash, basketball, soccer, baseball. He also loves mountain biking and skiing. Dr Krigovsky represented Nigeria LNG twice in Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry Games and won the swimming and golfing events twice. He is fluent in Czechoslovakian.
Dr. Toby Catlin
Doctor Toby Catlin joins our medical team at Brightwater Medical Centre Monday 26th March.Dr Toby Catlin trained in Brisbane and received his MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2011. He interned at Ipswich Hospital and then spent 5 years at Springfield in Brisbane’s south west gaining his Specialist Fellowship FRACGP in General Practice.
He was a trained Pharmacist graduating from the University of Queensland with a B.Pharm in 2005 and spent time working in Community pharmacy and 2 years at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist.
He has also worked as a scientist for the Princess Alexandra Hospital in liver transplants running the cell saver and rapid infusion pump during these surgeries and also spent time assisting in the retrieval process assisting transplant surgeons in this precious gift that donors make for the benefit of others.
He also has a Bachelors in Business with a double major in Marketing and worked for Qld Newspapers and in the advertising industry. Among other things he has had a wide range of experience in fashion, and the hotel and restaurant industries prior to making a move into the medical field.
He was born in Tasmania and is looking forward to re-learning to surf. Naturally because of his heritage he is keen on the outdoors and enjoys camping and was a keen fisherman until he moved too far from the water. Hence his permanent move back to a coastal region bringing his two children, his wife and pet Rottweiler, and turtle.
He is interested in mental health, women’s and men’s health and can insert and remove Implanon. He is also experienced in Work Cover, older person’s medicine, and Post ADF assessments and rehabilitation. He enjoys managing chronic disease, and is keen on Paediatric Medicine. He also is able to perform simple procedures in skin cancer medicine and also is adept at Iron Infusions. As a general practitioner he feels that anyone who walks in the door is a patient who will have needs that need to be met, and he will try his best to meet those needs.
Dr. Melinda Bird
Dr Melinda Bird graduated medicine from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle. She returned to Queensland to work through many of South East Queensland's hospitals before completing her specialty in General Practice. Melinda has now joined the team at Brightwater Medical Centre.
Melinda enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but has particular interests in women's and children's health.
Having grown up on the Sunshine Coast, Melinda is excited to be working close to home and family. Melinda enjoys keeping fit with swimming, surfing, walking her dog along the beach and spending time with her daughter.
Melinda works at Brightwater on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Dr. David Wilke
Doctor David Wilke graduated from the University of Queensland, and moved to a rural area as Medical Superintendent relatively early in his medical career. Completing general practice training in North Queensland, he commenced private general practice there.
A country boy and all too familiar with boarding school, he moved back to Brisbane so his children could live at home while furthering their education. During his initial years in Brisbane, he worked as a visiting GP obstetrician to the Royal Women's Hospital while running his private general practice.
Leaving his long term Brisbane practice, David became part of a rural practice team in the Bowen Basin Coalfields, providing community medical care, as well as emergency response and occupational health services to the mining industry. David is an NMA and offers coal board medicals.
We are delighted that David has joined our Alive & Kicking team full time as he settles in the Sunshine Coast to be close to family and friends, and enjoy the Sunshine Coast environment. David works at Brightwater Medical Centre Thursdays, and at Bundilla Clinic Wednesdays and Fridays.
David has considerable experience in all areas of general practice, in particular vasectomies, obstetrics and gynaecology, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, children's medicine, sporting injuries, and occupational health.
Dr. Elizabeth Smith
Dr Elizabeth Smith qualified from London University in 1987 and has 25 years experience as a GP. Liz practised in England for 10 years, followed by 12 months in a tropical diseases hospital in Zimbabwe before moving to the Sunshine Coast with her family in 2000.
Liz has considerable experience in women's and children's health, having obtained her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the UK. She also enjoys her work caring for the elderly. After 15 years on the Sunshine Coast, Liz's loyal following of patients confirm she is caring and conscientious. Liz would love to continue caring for her existing patients as well as adding new patients from the Brightwater area.
Liz works every day: Mondays, Wednesdays 8.30 - 4.30 and Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 8.30 - 12.30.
Dr. Patricia Smart
Patricia graduated (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 1995. She spent several years in Queensland hospitals before commencing General Practice. Her particular interest is paediatrics, but she enjoys all aspects of General Practice.
At present, Patricia works part time as she has three young children who keep her busy. Her ‘fourth child’ is a young springer spaniel, who needs lots of walks at the beach.
Patricia’s other interests include learning French, travel, hiking and camping.
Trish is working at Brightwater on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dr. Mark Zischke
Dr Mark Zischke is a general practitioner and fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. After graduating from the University of Queensland, Mark spent 4 years working in rural areas of Queensland before returning to Brisbane and ultimately pursuing a career in General Practice.
*** SPECIAL UPDATE! Mark has left the Sunshine Coast to return to Brisbane for half a year to be with his wife in Brisbane as they expand their family! We wish Mark all the best and fingers crossed he will be back soon!
