Dr. David Wilke
Doctor David Wilke graduated from the University of Queensland, and moved to a rural area as Medical Superintendent relatively early in his medical career. Completing general practice training in North Queensland, he commenced private general practice there.
A country boy and all too familiar with boarding school, he moved back to Brisbane so his children could live at home while furthering their education. During his initial years in Brisbane, he worked as a visiting GP obstetrician to the Royal Women's Hospital while running his private general practice.
Leaving his long term Brisbane practice, David became part of a rural practice team in the Bowen Basin Coalfields, providing community medical care, as well as emergency response and occupational health services to the mining industry. David is an NMA and offers coal board medicals.
We are delighted that David has joined our Alive & Kicking team full time as he settles in the Sunshine Coast to be close to family and friends, and enjoy the Sunshine Coast environment. David works at Brightwater Medical Centre Wednesdays and Fridays, and at Bundilla Clinic Tuesdays and Thursdays.
David has considerable experience in all areas of general practice, in particular vasectomies, obstetrics and gynaecology, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, children's medicine, sporting injuries, and occupational health.
